A Place of Yes

Monday is one of my favorite days of the week! It didn’t used to be – there was a time when I didn’t love my (work) life the way I do now – but now it is. I bring my daughter to play with her friends at daycare, squeeze in a workout and plug away happily at my desk in my quiet home.

Monday is also my favorite day because I choose to celebrate mompreneurs who motivate me, and today’s post is dedicated to the brash, beautiful businesswoman Bethenny Frankel. I read her book, “A Place of Yes,” last year and am about to reread it because there is so much wisdom in it. A few of my favorite excerpts:

Bethenny

“I believe anything is possible – if you want to be really successful, you have to be one of those people who sees yourself as more than a number or a drone or a cog in a machine. You have to see that you are special and believe that you can do it – and you have to surround yourself with people who believe you can do it too. It doesn’t mean you won’t have doubts, but you have to keep seeking your truth.”

“Don’t paralyze yourself worrying that you might not do the right thing that will lead you to the fulfillment of all of your dreams for the rest of your life – that’s just too much pressure. You’ll scare yourself into doing nothing. Instead, make acting on it a habit
“Whether you are at work or cooking dinner or cleaning your apartment or reading a book to your child, make what you do matter, and do it well. You never know who you are talking to, who is standing behind you in line or next to you in the elevator, who might notice the quality of your work, your attention to detail, your “I’m on it” attitude. You never know when a connection might matter, when an experience might prove relevant, or when a seemingly random event might lead to something significant.”, your default mode. Just get out there and start working and learning and doing. Start your life.”

Thank you, Bethenny, for always reminding me to come from a place of YES!
